Everyone wants to get rid of unwanted body flab and look beautiful. In order to get a beach-ready body, women are willing to go to any extent. Weight loss treatments, diet pills, and fad diets have become the norm today. Unfortunately, everyone wants to lose weight fast that too without any pains. Fad diets such as Mediterranean diet and GM diet have all become very popular but these are very extreme diets that almost eliminate certain foods from the diet to attain fast weight loss. One such diet is the high protein, low carb diet. Most people are familiar with high protein diets that are nothing but disguised low carb diets. No matter what you call them, their sole aim is to cut down on carbs from your diet and replace them with foods rich in protein. As such, you are required to choose foods in a way that you get 30% to 50% of the total calories from protein alone.

As a practicing cardiologist Dr Arthur Agatson was getting more and more frustrated when his patients failed to lose weight. They were faithfully following the standard, low-fat American Heart Association diet on his advice, with no results. He noticed that, not only didn’t they lose weight, but their blood chemistry did not improve. The results he was looking for was an increase in HDL (good cholesterol) and a decrease in LDL (bad cholesterol). Eventually, he developed a new diet specifically for his patients, which later became the basis for his best seller book, The South Beach Diet, which was first published in April 2003. The South Beach Diet was on the New York Times best seller list for more than 96 consecutive weeks, and in excess of 8.5 million copies have been printed. The book was listed as #1 on the New York Times Bestseller list for 38 weeks.
Like many other so-called “low carb” diets, the South Beach Diet assumes that many of us are addicted to carbohydrate-rich foods. The South Beach Diet is very similar to the Atkins Diet. They are so similar that many people believe the South Beach Diet is just a revised version of the Atkins Diet. The first phases for both diets are designed to get rid of the body’s addition to carbohydrates. Where the Atkins Diet has four phases, the South Beach Diet only has three, with a single phase replacing the second and third phases of Atkins. The last phases of both diets, again, are very similar. Since greater variety of foods are introduced earlier on in the South Beach Diet Plan, dieters tend to lose weight at a slightly slower pace than those on Atkins, but many find the South Beach Diet easier to follow because it is less restrictive.

Is it true that being a low carb diet will help you to lose weight, especially around the midsection?
I’m 5’2″, 125 lbs, and petite in build, but I unfortunately have an apple shaped body….any weight that I gain goes straight to my midsection. I’ve only gained about 7 lbs, but I can no longer wear my pants, shirts, anything because of this. I work out 3-5 times a day for at least an hour. (Mostly cardio with strength training as well.) I notice my legs and arms are feeling firmer, but I still have access fat on my stomach. I notice I eat a lot of carbs. Could this be my downfall? Advice?
I’d like to lose 6-8 lbs as soon as possible.
I don’t mean healthy carbs….I’m talking breads, sugars, etc. I realize you need fruits and veggies. And I would never cut out all carbs, just wondering if it makes a difference to cut back.

Do you want to know why a customized detox diet plan is an important part of reclaiming your health? It all starts with the old adage, “you are what you eat!” Everything you consume is incorporated into your cells. Your cells are the building blocks of your organs, blood, bones and skin. Truly, you are what you eat! Many foods, beverages and medications carry heavy toxic loads that weaken your body and encourage disease. Cleaning up your diet is a critical aspect to a successful detox.
Your body wants to cleanse itself. In fact, it is working around the clock to clear toxins it’s exposed to every day. As you learn to cooperate, listen to and support your body, it will naturally cleanse itself and you will feel better.

As you’ve maybe already heard, people form Mediterranean suffer less cardiovascular problems from people in any other country in the world where the consumption of animal fat is high. Also medical studies indicate the same. One reason is that in Mediterranean olive oil consumption is pretty high.

The doctor just did a blood test on me and she told me that I have really really high cholesterol. She also said I need to cut back on carbs.
I need a healthy life diet plan. I’m not asking for diet TIPS, I’m asking for a diet PLAN.
But see, the catch is, I’m Vegan, so I need a healthy plan that can benefit me.

If your doctor has told you to get on a cholesterol diet plan, what does that really mean? Do you have to radically change your lifestyle? The answer is no, if you use a little common sense and open your mind to new food choices.
A low cholesterol diet plan means you need to limit foods that are high in cholesterol, like eggs, to one or two days a week. There are good egg substitutes on the market if you just have to have your fix more often in the week.
