For reasons, both personal and for weight loss, many people prefer having meals which are low in carbohydrates. However, people who are willing to try out such breakfasts for the first time, often face difficulties in preparing such low carb breakfasts. On the contrary this is quite an easy task as there are several ketogenic low carb diet plans available on the internet.
Ketone bodies are produced by breakdown of fatty acids in our body and that is the ‘key’ to a ketogenic diet plan. This plan proposes the use of low carbohydrates, high protein and high fat diet; using which the body can burn fat to produce energy instead of using the carbohydrates to convert to glucose. Thus the fat in the body is naturally burned leading to weight loss. The diet should however be followed only after consulting a dietician.

I am bored with salads lately and need to eat more. Anyone have any good ideas/recipes for fat free, low carb salads with some protein?
Any good fat free salad dressing recipes would be lovely too. Thanks!
And if you happen to have any good low carb, low fat vegan meal ideas, let me know too!

I’m “dieting”..more like reverting back to my better eating habits.
I’m the type of female that will BALLOON when she eats carbs. So basically..when I eat meat..butter…cheese…veggies…eggs…the weight just MELTS off and I have SO much energy.
However, I’m having a hard time planning meals. I’m a medical student and don’t have much time..and I also dunno what to grab as a snack. I can’t eat eggs forever…or cheese forever…or almonds forever LOL. Ideas? I don’t wanna fall off my “diet” due to time being crunched. Thanks
I’m 200 now…looking to go back down to 140..which is easily doable when I eat lots of protein stuff and veggies..for some reason…I’m also 5’4 and only 26…gotta lose the weight!

We would like to know if there are low fat/ low carb options to our favorite foods. Most of what we eat is american cuisine but, do enjoy chinese or mexican once in a while. Thanks!
Although I appreciate the suggestions on exercise, that’s not what I was asking for. I realize exercise is key to maintaining or losing weight. I would like to know if any one has ideas for foods or recipes that we can work into this particular lifestyle.

I’ve been hearing lots about how going “low carb” is good for you losing weight, and keeping it off (obviously along with exercise). I’d quite like to give this a go, as I eat a LOT of bread, pasta, rice etc. However, as I eat so many carbs (at least one portion with every meal!) I’m at a loss for things to cook that don’t have carbs in them. I think it would be weird to have a dinner that didn’t have rice or pasta or potatoes or bread with it, but the real dilemma is lunch time.
What could I take in a packed lunch that has little or no carbs? Sandwiches, wraps, pasta are all out of course, and I can’t think of very many exciting things to substitute. So what could I take for lunch?
